Dear Families,
We have only 2 more school days until the big WAX MUSEUM! We have worked extremely hard this week on final drafting for our posters, writing speeches, and drawing pictures about our important person. I can't wait for you to see your child's hard work next week Wednesday. Remember, the museum is from 1:00-1:45 on Wednesday 5/24. Students will be spread between the three 3rd grade rooms and in the Library. We would appreciate you touring the rooms and seeing other students and the hard work they all put into this project.
Student written speeches are coming home TODAY to practice over the weekend. They should read with fantastic expression and work on making their person really come alive with their voice and their mannerisms. I encourage them to memorize their speech as best as they can! If you have any editing or changing of speeches, this can still be done as we have not practiced the speeches at school just yet. I went through with each student to make sure they had most content and a well written outline, but some speeches need a little more detail.
Reminders:
Wax Museum-5/24-1:00-1:45
Memorial Day-5/29-No School
3rd Grade Luau-6/7-To celebrate the last days of school, we are planning a fun Hawaiian themed party for all three 3rd grade classes. I will be sending out additional info and reminders for those who signed up at the beginning of year to donate treats/snacks. (Just in case you don't remember :)

What we learned this week:

Math-
I can solve 2 step story problems.
Reading-
I can increase my stamina and read one good fit book to completion.
Social Studies-
I can understand pioneers and the hard work they did as they settled in a new place.
Have a great weekend!
