Dear Families,
Wow. What a week. We crammed a lot of excitement and learning into one single 5 day span! Halloween was a blast. It was a beautiful day and the parade to the Laurels was a real success. Then, we celebrated together with games and treats! See pictures from the day below!

Next up was Inferring Day 2016. Students walked into the classroom to find a crime scene! We used our snazzy detective gear and our inferring abilities to figure out what went down before we entered the room. It turns out a character from our book, Frindle, was up late in our classroom completing an assignment for his teacher Mrs. Granger! Students didn't let one clue slip past them ;)
We also did other activities to work on our inferring skills. The basic concept...
Schema (what we already know) + Clues (from the text or other source) = an inference

On Friday, we had an assembly as a whole school to review our school wide theme "better together". We did a neat simulation where we created a 2 minute rain storm as a whole school. Something we could only do together! We also got pumped up for our can drive...which starts Monday! #pesbettertogether
