Dear Families,
We are finished with our state standardized testing! I am very proud of each student, as I noticed each of them pushing themselves to show what they know and go above and beyond with all of their testing strategies. They were long days of testing and they never complained! Way to go 4th graders. We are celebrating being finished on Monday. Students may wear PJs and we plan to watch Holes, the book we just finished reading for a read-aloud.
Reminders-
MSTEP Celebration Monday-We will wear PJs on Monday and watch the movie HOLES. We just finished this book during read aloud. The movie is rated PG, please let me know if you have an issue with your child viewing this movie.
4th Grade Health Video- On Friday, May 25 the fourth grade classes will be dividing into two groups to watch the health video. The boys will be viewing the video with Mr. Field and the girls with Mrs. Durham, Mrs. Mutschler, and myself. This will be happening at 3:10. A form should have come home today if you would rather your child opt out of the video. I always like to give advance notice so that you can begin speaking to your child about how his/her body will begin change. If you would like to see what your child will be watching you can view it at www.pgschoolprograms.com/parents.phpThis is also a great time to start your child with deodorant if you haven’t already. Bodies are changing, temps are increasing, and we are noticing a lot of body odor this spring. To alleviate anxiety about body changes please encourage your child to shower regularly and to begin wearing deodorant.
Kirk Park Field Trip-On Thursday May 31st- Information came home today about our field trip on a white sheet. Please fill out and return by next week Friday. All parents are welcome on our field trip, but it will be helpful to know who is coming along to plan for groups.
Field Day T-Shirt Order Form-Your child should have come home with a field day T-shirt order form. This T-shirt is for the district wide 4th and 5th grade field day on June 5. Your child does not need to order a shirt, but the majority of the kids do. If your child is not going to order a shirt, please have him or her wear the group’s color. Fourth grade girls are wearing pink and boys are wearing orange. All shirt forms are due May 18.
**Due to taking the MSTEP this week, there are not learning targets**
At this time of year, there are many happenings and things to remember! I will make sure to send out lots of reminders and updates! Thanks for helping us finish the year strong!!
Enjoy the weekend!
