Dear Families,
I want to say thank you very much for the generous Christmas gifts from many of you. I enjoyed many of the items already over break and look forward to using gift cards in the coming weeks. I hope you enjoyed the holidays with your families. It is good to be back together as a class and we have been very productive this week. I could tell that students were ready to come back and get to work! Now, we will just take some days of warmer temps so the kids can go outside to play! Please enjoy some pictures below from our schoolwide caroling and Christmas Party!

Reminders:
Spelling-We have started spelling again this week. Please remember, students should write their words at least 1 time in their agenda each night (or on a scrap piece of paper that they show me). If they pass all of their words the first week, they do not have spelling the following week.
Early Release-Next week Friday 1/13. Students will be dismissed at 12:15pm. Sack lunches are available for students who wish to order.
Store Donations-We are very low on items for our 3rd grade mall. If you are willing to donate candy items, cans of pop, or other individually wrapped snacks please send with your child next week. Thank you!
What we learned this week:
Writing-
I can draft my informational piece.
I can hook my reader with a brief introduction.
Math-
I can find elapsed time as well as start/ending times.
Reading-
I can understand how characters overcome challenges.
Science-
I can identify various types of sound.
Social Studies-
I can interpret different types of maps.
I can identify different Michigan symbols.
Stay warm out there and enjoy the weekend!
