Students have been so busy working at school, it was almost as if Thanksgiving break snuck up on all of us. But, it will be nice to recharge and refresh and get back at it next week. Students presented their character posters to the whole class today. Nerves were present, but they were proud of their work and excited to present. Make sure to check out pictures of each student presenting below.
Reminders:
Geography Test-We made a general consensus that students wanted more time to study for the Geography test. I know they worked hard studying last night, but it will be helpful to have a few more days to prepare. Here is a study checklist that will be helpful to review.
-Know the four hemispheres (Northern, Southern, Western, Eastern) and which ones the United States is located in.
-Push Factor - something that drives people away from a place
-Pull Factor - forces that draw people to a new area
-Examples of push and pull factors: jobs, climate, economy, war, freedom...
-Physical Characteristic - natural features of the earth’s surface
-Human Characteristic - features that have been put in place by people
-Know that regions are created by the characteristics of a certain area.
-Migration - the movement of people from one place to another within their own country
-Immigration - the movement of people into another country to which they are not native to
-Know that immigration effects the makeup of a place and the way that life is lived.
-Study the United States map and know where to label the following locations: Mexico, Gulf of Mexico, Michigan, Canada, Atlantic Ocean, and Pacific Ocean.
-Study your continents and oceans page in your packet. Know where to locate all the continents and oceans.
Learning Feast-Next week Tuesday at 1:00pm. Parents are welcome to come read their child's story and see character posters. Donations of dry snacks for our feast are welcome on Monday or Tuesday.

-bag candy corn or pumpkins
-large bag M&Ms
-bag of Bugles
-large bag popcorn (any kind)
-bag or chocolate chips
-box of cereal (any kind that tastes good on its own)
-bag of marshmallows
-bag of Goldfish crackers
-OR other dry items that would work well mixed with these above items

Reading-
I can interpret my character and display information on an eye catching display.

I can understand push and pull factors.
Math-
I can use the expanded form and place value sections methods to solve division.
I can use the digit by digit method to solve long division problems.
